Bay Area Barns and Trails is a land and trails trust whose mission is to preserve publicly accessible barns, stables, pastures, staging areas, horse camps, and trails in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma Counties.

The San Francisco Bay Trail Project was created as a nonprofit
organization dedicated to planning, promoting and advocating implementation
of the Bay Trail. To carry out its mission, the Bay Trail Project
makes available grant funds for trail construction and maintenance;
participates in planning efforts and encourages consistency with
the adopted Bay Trail Plan; educates the public and decision-makers
about the merits and benefits of the Bay Trail; produces maps and
other materials to publicize the existence of the Bay Trail; and
disseminates information about progress on its development. The
Bay Trail provides easily accessible recreational opportunities
for outdoor enthusiasts including hikers, joggers, bicyclists, and
skaters. The trail also offers a setting for wildlife viewing and
environmental education, and it increases public respect and appreciation
for the Bay.

The California LCV is a nonprofit created to mobilize California
voters to support environmentally friendly political candidates.
It also serves as a watchdog for holding elected officials accountable
for their environmental votes. The league works with a coalition
of environmental and community groups, is nonpartisan, and includes

The EBCC is dedicated to promoting youth development through environmental
stewardship and community service. The organization works to further
education reform and social change through several interrelated
programs as well as a charter school based on a service-learning
philosophy. Through service learning, the EBCC engages young people
from all walks of life in their education and development while
addressing environmental and social issues. The EBCC’s comprehensive
program model enhances participants’ academic, leadership,
employment and life skills, self-esteem, civic responsibility, and
environmental awareness.

The Golden Gate National Park Association works hand-in-hand with
the National Park Service to protect the national parks at the Golden

Save the Bay (Save San Francisco Bay Association) seeks to restore
and protect wetlands that provide vital food and habitat for Bay
Area species, and precious open space for future generations. Save
the Bay works to fight unwise construction and toxic threats in
this biologically diverse ecosystem, while targeting areas for reclamation
and offering experiential education programs such as Canoes in Sloughs
for schools and educators.
